In Home Therapy

I will provide therapy in your home. This modality supports parent training and carry over of skills within the child’s everyday routine and environment.

In most cases, children can participate in teletherapy sessions on an as needed basis (i.e. travel, illness, COVID exposure, weather) even if the majority of sessions are conducted in the home.

Library Therapy

Therapy sessions can also be conducted in a local public library in a shared or private library space if this setting is appropriate for the child given their age, needs and goals. This is ideal for school aged children who may focus better in a more structured and less distracting environment.

Comprehensive Evaluation

An initial evaluation will be conducted to understand your child's unique profile and identify their strengths and challenges. Evaluations will vary depending on the clients needs but will likely include parent interview, family history, speech/language sample, observation and informal/standardized skill assessments. Evaluation results will be shared and reviewed together. We will collaborate to develop a treatment plan including functional goals and the length and frequency of sessions going forward. The plan of care may be determined during the initial evaluation or at a follow up session depending on timing.

Teletherapy

Teletherapy is a convenient solution for many families. It is a great option for those who are social distancing or live outside of the coverage area. If you are unsure if your home is located within the coverage area we can discuss that during the initial phone screening.

Just as with in-person therapy sessions, every teletherapy session is personalized to your child's preferences and goals. I use interactive activities such as songs, books, and games to engage your child in the learning process. Depending on your child’s age, skills, and target goals, parent facilitation may be required to ensure your child gets the full support needed during the session. We will also dedicate time at the end of each session to answer questions and discuss strategies for ongoing home practice. If you are unsure if teletherapy will work as an option for your family, we can discuss that during the initial phone screening.
